In its second year running, the “Lapis Sagu” Campaign by Ministry of Communications and Information aimed to broaden the understanding of challenges faced by social integration in Singapore. Storyteller Productions was engaged to construct a way to breakdown and explain the issue at hand in an informative and engaging way to the general public. The challenge was to summarize and express a large complex multi dimensional problem in under 4 minutes. We approached the project by commissioning well known Animators and Comic book Artists to help express the project by hand drawn animation. We also spent 2 months of research and cross checked with multiple government agencies and statutory boards to verify the arguments presented.

The animation video production took 3 months to completion.

In its second year running, the “Lapis Sagu” Campaign by Ministry of Communications and Information aimed to broaden the understanding of challenges faced by social integration in Singapore.

In an effort to shift the Singaporean perspective on foreigners, MCI approached Storyteller Productions for a solution. Our idea was to put a human face to the foreigners living in Singapore to humanise them and also highlight the good work that they do here and how as individuals they contribute back to Singaporeans.

We created a series of 3 videos with a nuanced style of pace and humour to help introduce a difficult and sensitive subject to the public.

The video series was considered a success through the comments and shares generated.
